Paper Prints Policy

Electronic Journal of Microbiology Research (JMR) is a fully open-access journal dedicated to disseminating high-quality research efficiently, equitably, and sustainably. While our primary publication model emphasizes digital access to ensure broad and immediate availability, we recognize that some authors, institutions, or readers may prefer or require physical copies. This policy outlines the provisions for requesting paper prints, associated costs, and our commitment to environmentally responsible publishing.

1. Digital-First Open Access Model

All journal content is freely accessible online in digital formats (PDF, HTML). This approach aligns with our mission to:

• Promote global accessibility to scientific knowledge.

• Reduce costs and resource consumption.

• Maximize readership and citation impact.

We strongly encourage digital access as the primary and preferred method for engaging with journal content.

2. Availability of Paper Prints

Though we prioritize digital formats, we provide printed copies in the following scenarios:

• Individual Article Prints: Authors or readers may request physical copies of individual articles.

• Full Issue Prints: Institutions, libraries, and organizations may request printed copies of specific issues or volumes.

These prints are made available on-demand to reduce unnecessary printing and waste.

3. How to Request Paper Prints

To request a printed copy, please submit a request through our [official website/contact email]. Include the following details:

• Article or issue title(s)

• Author name(s)

• Volume and issue number

• Quantity of copies

• Delivery address

• Preferred printing format (standard, colour, etc.)

A member of our editorial or production team will follow up to confirm availability, pricing, and timelines.

4. Cost and Payment

Paper prints are subject to production and shipping fees. These costs depend on:

• Number of copies requested

• Destination (domestic vs. international)

• Format (black and white vs. colour, standard vs. premium)

A detailed price estimate will be provided upon request. Payment must be received in full before processing.

5. Sustainability Commitment

As part of our responsibility to the environment, Electronic Journal of Microbiology Research adheres to eco-conscious practices in print production:

• We use recycled or sustainably sourced paper wherever possible.

• Soy- or vegetable-based inks are used to minimize chemical impact.

• We partner with eco-certified printing services that follow green standards.

• We promote digital access to significantly reduce the carbon footprint associated with shipping and paper waste.

We urge authors and readers to opt for digital formats unless physical copies are essential.

6. Copyright and Usage Rights

All printed articles fall under the journal’s open-access license (e.g., CC BY or equivalent):

• Authors retain copyright.

• Printed copies may be shared for personal, educational, or institutional use.

• Any large-scale distribution (e.g., for commercial or promotional purposes) may require prior permission.

7. No Embargo on Printing

Print requests can be made as soon as an article is published online. There are no embargoes or waiting periods. However, delivery is subject to processing and postal timelines.

8. Delivery and Turnaround Time

Once payment is received:

• Domestic deliveries typically arrive within 5–10 business days.

• International deliveries may take 2–4 weeks depending on customs and local logistics.

• Tracking information will be provided when available.

9. Refund and Cancellation Policy

• Full refunds (minus admin fees) are available if the order is cancelled before production.

• Once printing/shipping has started, no refunds will be issued.

• In the case of printing errors or delivery issues, replacements may be issued at no extra cost.

10. Inclusive Access Statement

Though physical copies are available upon request, Electronic Journal of Microbiology Research remains committed to universal digital access. Our goal is to ensure that:

• All researchers, regardless of location or resources, can engage with our content.

• Print requests accommodate accessibility needs without compromising sustainability.
